About the Book

Whether it be disposable gloves or high-tech devices - objects play a huge role in nursing and care. But how do they contribute to the constitution of nursing and care? How are societal ideas and orders inscribed in objects of care and what influence do objects have on their development? This book brings back into focus questions heretofore neglected in relevant research and shows how people and objects interact in historic and contemporary settings of nursing and care, as well as how objects can both contribute to and hinder normality, proximity, or knowledge.

Review :
