Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Der Fremdenverkehr ist einer der wichtigsten Wirtschaftssektoren Osterreichs. Im Jahre 2001 betrugen die Einnahmen aus dem Tourismus in Osterreich ca. 24,9 Milliarden Euro1. Damit hatte der Wirtschaftsfaktor Tourismus - unter Berucksichtigung aller direkten und indirekten okonomischen Effekte - im Jahre 2001 einen Anteil von 9,1 Prozent1 am Bruttoinlandprodukt. Diese Zahlen lassen auf den groen Stellenwert des Tourismus in Osterreich schlieen. Vor allem der Wintertourismus, von dem etwa 70 bis 80 Prozent auf den „Skitourismus" entfallen, hat hinsichtlich der wirtschaftlichen Wertschopfung besondere Bedeutung. Mit dem stetigen Wachstum des Tourismusmarktes hat sich jedoch die Konkurrenzsituation markant verscharft. Der Kunde von heute ist reiseerfahrener, kritischer und preisbewusster als je zuvor. Gleichermaen stellt er hohe Anspruche an die Zielregion und ihre Angebote. Die veranderten Urlaubswunsche und Verhaltensweisen erfordern mehr denn je mageschneiderte, neue Urlaubsangebote. Gefragt sind beispielsweise Abwechslung, Erlebnis, Spa, Fitness, Gesundheits- und Wellnessangebote, Shopping, u.a.. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird das Angebot einer Wintersportregion in Vorarlberg kritisch untersucht und bewertet. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei die Analyse der Kundenzufriedenheit. Zunachst werden im ersten Abschnitt der Arbeit die theoretischen Grundlagen fur die empirische Untersuchung dargelegt. Zum besseren Verstandnis der heutigen Ausgangssituation wird ein kurzer historischer Abriss uber die Entwicklung des Wintertourismus und dessen wirtschaftliche Bedeutung gegeben, ehe das „Untersuchungsobjekt" selbst, die Gemeinde Damuls, vorgestellt wird. Um die Bedeutung der Kundenzufriedenheit im Tourismus abschatzen zu konnen, werden in einem zweiten Schritt die Konstrukte „Kundenzufriedenheit" und „Dienstleistungsqualitat" naher beleuchtet und deren Charakteristika herausgestellt.
