Inhaltsangabe: Gang der Untersuchung: Mit dieser Arbeit wird untersucht, auf welche Weise Softwareagenten im geschäftlichen Umgang von Anbieter und Nachfrager als Mittler und Kontaktfinder eingesetzt werden können, wo Schwierigkeiten bestehen und welche Aufgaben sie nutzenbringend bewältigen können. Zu Beginn der Untersuchung werden unterschiedliche Typen von Agenten gekennzeichnet und notwendige theoretische Grundlagen deren Funktionsweise vermittelt. Nachfolgend wird betrachtet, welche Mittleraufgaben sie als Schnittstelle bei elektronischen Geschäften zwischen Anbieter und Nachfrager einnehmen können. Konkretisiert wird dies durch die Untersuchung der einzelnen Phasen des Kaufprozesses, in denen - beginnend mit der Informationsbeschaffung des Nachfragers und endend mit agentenunterstützten automatisierbaren Serviceleistungen in der Nachkaufphase - aufgezeigt wird, welche Agenten für bestimmte Aufgaben geeignet sind und welche Nutzen sie jeweils erfüllen können. Anhand zahlreicher aktueller Beispiele der unterschiedlichen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten wird der Agenteneinsatz praxisnah verdeutlicht. Wichtigen Problembereichen und Fragestellungen, die für eine erfolgreiche Integration der elektronischen Assistenten in Geschäftsprozesse des Electronic Business von Bedeutung sind, wird dabei besondere Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Aspekte der Anwenderakzeptanz werden ebenso untersucht wie resultierende Wirkungen auf Marketingmaßnahmen von Unternehmen, die Agenten für den Verkauf von Waren und Dienstleistungen nutzen möchten. Abschließend werden Trends und Entwicklungen des Einsatzes zukünftiger Generationen von Softwareagenten vorgestellt. Diese Untersuchung wendet sich damit an Leser, die sich mit der grundlegenden Funktionsweise verschiedener Agentenarten im Electronic Business vertraut machen wollen.
