Etwa 70 Fachleute aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Politik diskutierten im Dezember 1989 auf einem Seminar der WE Heraeus-Stiftung die "Optionen und Prioritaten kunftiger Forschungs- und Technologiepolitik". Angesichts der drohenden globalen Klimaveranderungen und anderer Umweltprobleme ging es vor allem um eine okologisch orientierte Forschungs- und Technikpolitik, die unsere Zukunft langfristig sichert. Diese Politik muss folgende Kriterien erfullen: - Weite Zeithorizonte (100 Jahre), - Weltsolidaritat (Nord/Sud-Lander), - moglichst kleine Risiken fur die Bevolkerung (z.B. Radioaktivitat), - Wohlfahrts- statt Wirtschaftswachstum. In dem hier vorgelegten Tagungsbericht hat Prof.Dr. Helmar Krupp als wissenschaftlicher Leiter des Seminars die Referate und Diskussionsergebnisse zusammengestellt. Der Bericht gibt einen reprasentativen Uberblick uber den internationalen Stand der Forschungs- und Technikpolitik und skizziert anhand konkreter Beispiele die kunftigen Anforderungen an diese Politik.
