About the Book

Der Kriegsmaschinerie galt seine Leidenschaft. Bildhauer und Maler war er nur so nebenbei. Dazu auch Architekt, Ingenieur, Philosoph, Anatom, Eventmanager. Leonardo da Vinci vereinte all diese Berufe und Berufungen in seiner Person und zählt auch noch fünf Jahrhunderte nach seinem Tod zu den berühmtesten Geistesgrößen der Geschichte. Wenig bis gar nichts weiß man allerdings darüber, dass Leonardo ein smarter, vorlauter Rebell war, der in Florenz und Mailand des ausgehenden 15. Jahrhunderts auch gerne einmal seine Fäuste für sich sprechen ließ und dem weiblichen Geschlecht alles andere als abgeneigt war. Seine Affäre mit der schönen Lucrezia Donati, Mätresse seines Arbeitsgebers Lorenzo di Medici, sorgte für reichlich Konfliktpotenzial. Ständig geriet er mit der weltlichen und kirchlichen Obrigkeit in Konflikt. Und auch mit Zeitgenossen wie Michelangelo, dessen Betrug er lautstark aufdeckte, als dieser eine Statue des jungen Johannes mit Farbe und Sand auf antik trimmte und durch Pierfrancesco de Medici um teures Geld an den Kardinal San Giorgio Raffaele Riario in Rom verkaufte.

About the Author :
Georg Illichmann, 1947 in Wien geboren, begann seine berufliche Karriere am Flughafen Wien-Schwechat und wechselte anschließend in die Marketing- und Vertriebsabteilung der damals größten österreichischen Fluglinie. Nach einem Arbeitseinsatz in Saudi-Arabien wurde ihm die Leitung der neu eröffneten Außenstelle in Tripolis, Libyen, anvertraut. Es folgten berufliche Stationen in Stockholm und Brüssel. Die letzten sechs Jahre seiner Karriere verbrachte er in Tokio. Nach dem Ausscheiden aus dem Flugbetrieb übersiedelte er mit seiner Familie in das Burgenland. Seit vielen Jahren interessiert er sich für die Renaissance-Epoche in Italien und deren historischen Protagonisten im Zeitraum des 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts.
