Die "Gemeinde" zählt gerade mal zwei Einwohner, sie ist aber auf den meisten Landkarten eingetragen. Wer wiederum glaubt, dass Y nur ein Buchstabe ist, wird in der französischen Region Picardie im Nordwesten Frankreichs eines Besseren belehrt. Hinter Y verbirgt sich nämlich eine Gemeinde mit derzeit 81 Einwohnern, die sich konsequenterweise als "Ypsiloniens" bezeichnen. Mal ehrlich: Wussten Sie schon, dass Achterbahnfahren gegen Asthma hilft oder Kühe mit Namen angeredet werden möchten? Ist Ihnen bekannt, dass der Handy-Weitwurf eine eingetragene sportliche Disziplin ist und auf dem Wrack der Titanic eine neue Lebensform entdeckt wurde? Haben Sie schon einmal etwas von einem Thermometer-Huhn gehört oder von jenem Fleckchen Erde, wo man im Jahr zweimal Geburtstag feiern kann? Rolf Froböse studied chemistry. Following his studies he worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Society, was division manager at the technology magazine highTech and chief editor of the journals Chemische Industrie and Europa Chemie. Since 1995 he has worked as a freelance science and economic journalist, reporting on research and development issues. He has also penned numerous popular non-fiction books, including Lust und Liebe - alles nur Chemie? (Lust and Love - is it more than Chemistry?), which he authored in collaboration with his wife Gabriele. The latter has so far been translated into English, Spanish, Danish and Korean.
