About the Book

Felix Partners is made up of life partners Peter and Rahel Felix - he is an architect; she is a designer and marketing planner. They believe that architecture and business, from idea to marketing, go hand in hand. Thus, the book is not intended, primarily, as a classic retrospective but as an explanation, using their recent projects (both built and not built) to make clear their core concept that architecture and design should encompass the entire value chain of a construction project. This ranges from real estate assessment and project development, to project financing with an in-house investment company, all the way to the planning and execution stages, including marketing and interior design. This young architectural firm is breaking new ground by covering all these areas and always working in a process-oriented manner. The book presents 13 projects, selected from the work of Felix Partners in Zurich. The various aspects are explored with contributions from Prof. Kenneth Frampton, Dr. Thomas Held, and Ulrike Zeugin Golker. Interviews with residents and developers provide additional personal insights.
