Für viele NP-schwere Losgrößenprobleme stehen diverse Heuristiken zur Verfügung, die je nach Eigenschaft der Instanz unterschiedliche Lösungsqualitäten und Rechenzeiten aufweisen. Mit zunehmender Problemgröße steigen die Rechenzeiten der Heuristiken deutlich an, sodass das Testen aller Heuristiken für große Instanzen sehr zeitaufwändig ist. Daher wird ein Verfahren benötigt, das ohne Ausprobieren aller Heuristiken eine geeignete Auswahl trifft. Als zu lösendes Problem wurde das Capacitated Lotsizing Problem (CLSP) gewählt, ein grundlegendes und gut erforschtes Modell der Losgrößenplanung, für das zahlreiche Heuristiken existieren. Das CLSP betrachtet mehrere Produkte mit dynamischer Nachfrage, die auf einer Produktionslinie mit begrenzter Kapazität gefertigt werden. Jeder Produktwechsel verursacht Rüstkosten. Ziel ist es, Rüst- und Lagerhaltungskosten zu minimieren. Fünf Prognoseverfahren zur Heuristikauswahl für das CLSP werden vorgestellt. Grundlage ist ein umfassender Datensatz der verschiedene Szenarien hinsichtlich Nachfrage, Auslastung und Kostenrelationen abbildet. Eines der Prognoseverfahren ist ein dreischichtiges Neuronales Netz (CLSP-Net), das mit kleinen, schnell lösbaren Instanzen trainiert wird. Durch den Einsatz relativer Key Performance Indikatoren kann CLSP-Net die beste Heuristik auch für große Instanzen vorhersagen.
