Trotz Empfehlungen des Berufsverbandes fur Kinder- und Jugendarzte (BVJK) den Fernsehkonsum bei Kleinkindern unter drei komplett zu unterbinden (BVJK, 2007), sehen zwei- bis dreijahrige durchschnittlich 77 Minuten taglich fern." (Klimsa, Klimsa, 2007, S.5). Dies geht aus einer qualitativen Langzeitstudie von Anja Klimsa und Prof. Dr. Paul Klimsa hervor. Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene ab drei Jahren, haben im Jahr 2012 taglich mehr als 220min vor dem TV-Gerat verbracht, das ist das Ergebnis der aktuellen Forschungen der Gesellschaft fur Konsumforschung (GfK) (AGF in Zusammenarbeit mit GfK-Fernsehforschung, 2013). Bei einem so hohen Konsum ist es nachvollziehbar, dass sich die Medienforschung schon seit uber 60 Jahren mit den Auswirkungen des Fernsehens beschaftigt (Charlton, 1999). Die Ergebnisse allerdings sind sehr differenziert, Medienoptimisten konzentrieren sich hauptsachlich auf die positiven, forderlichen Aspekte des Fernsehers, Medienkritiker weisen vor allem auf die negativen Konsequenzen hin. Die Ambivalenz der Forschungsergebnisse lasst sich vor allem auf die Komplexitat des Rezeptionsverhaltens zuruckfuhren. Florian Rotzer verfasste 2010, im Onlinemagazin Telepolis, einen Artikel mit der Uberschrift Empathie trocknet bei der Generation Ich" aus." Er beruft sich dort auf eine Studie der University of Michigan, in welcher Daten uber die Empathie von fast 14.000 Studenten zwischen den Jahren 1979 und 2009 ausgewertet wurden. Das Ergebnis: Die Empathie-Werte, also das Mitgefuhl anderen gegenuber und die Bereitschaft der Perspektivubernahme, sanken seit 1980 erheblich. Unabhangig von diesem Artikel wird der Begriff der Generation-Ich' des Ofteren in den Medien verwendet, um egozentrisches Verhalten uberspritzt auszudrucken. Verhal
