Kommunikation, Note: 1, Hochschule Mittweida (FH), Veranstaltung: Mediengeschichte, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit gibt einen umfangreichen Überblick über das Mediensystem der Schweiz, geht auf kulturelle Besonderheiten ein und gibt ebenfalls eine Übersicht über die Rechtsgrundlagen und die Medienpolitik der Schweiz. Dabei werden alle Medien betrachtet und untersucht und sich später auf das Printmedium konzentriert. Auch werden die Punkte Medienkonzentration und publizistische Vielfalt aufgearbeitet. Die Rolle der Journalisten, die Qualität und die Professionalität werden ausführlich betrachtet und Trends für die Zukunft aufgezeigt. Auszug Kapitel "Tageszeitungen" Im Bereich der Tageszeitungen ist ein rascher Strukturwandel zu beobachten. Seit den 1960ern konzentrierten sich die Zeitungstitel immer mehr, wodurch kleinere Zeitungen ausstarben. Vor allem die großen überregionalen Zeitungen übernahmen kleinere Blätter und verdoppelten somit ihre bereits starke Gesamtauflage. Sie konnten so ihre führende Marktposition weiter ausbauen und wuchsen deshalb überproportional zu anderen Medienunternehmen. Besonders die politische Partei- und Gesinnungspresse fiel der Konzentration zum Opfer. Sie wurden von Zeitungen verdrängt, die auf Interessen von weiten Teilen der Bevölkerung eingingen. 20 Jahre später setzte eine zweite Welle der Konzentration ein, die noch bis heute andauert. Jetzt traf es vor allem mittelgroße Zeitungen, die allein mit einer Auflage von unter 100.000 dem Wettbewerb nicht mehr standhalten konnten. Es kam zu Kooperationen im Verlags- und Anzeigengeschäft, den so genannten Anzeigenpools, wie auch im redaktionellen Bereich. Die Blätter die einer Konzentration Stand halten konnten, besitzen heute in ihren Regionen eine marktbeherrschende Position und müssen kaum noch in einen Qualitätswettbewerb mit anderen Zeitungen treten.
