About the Book

Angeblich unpolitisch, bewährt Egmont ethisch-politisches Genie in Anlehnung an Machiavelli.

About the Author :

Review :
«Wittkowski's book is the culmination of a life-long effort to show the refined beauty, subtlety, range, and richness of the German language in the hands of Goethe and is devoted to illuminating the ethical questions and answers that were a keystone of his thought, a keystone that is as valuable today as it was during the halcyon days of German Classicism.» (Paul E. Kerry, The Eighteenth-Century Intelligencer)
