Die Studie ist in den weiteren philosophisch-literaturwissenschaftlichen Kontext eingeordnet und betrachtet im ersten Abschnitt das Zusammenspiel der Künste, insbesondere das Verhältnis von Literatur und Musik, in der Ästhetik und in der Vergleichenden Literaturwissenschaft. Im zweiten Abschnitt will der Verfasser den Blick auf Kierkegaards (1813-1855) gleichermaßen faszinierende wie irritierende Reflexion auf Mozart richten. Der dänische Religionsphilosoph und Schriftsteller unterscheidet drei Sphären der Existenz: die ästhetische, die ethische und die religiöse. Im ersten Teil seiner Schrift «Entweder-Oder» (1843) beleuchtet er im Namen des Pseudonyms «Ästhetiker A» die ästhetische Lebensanschauung, die er im Hauptakteur von Mozarts «Don Giovanni» unüberbietbar gezeichnet und in Cherubino aus «Le nozze di Figaro» wie in Papageno aus der «Zauberflöte» schon in Ansätzen ausgewiesen sieht.

Der Autor: Peter Tschuggnall wurde 1956 in Schwaz geboren. Er studierte Theologie und Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft an der Universität Innsbruck. 1958 Mag. theol., 1989 Dr. theol., 1991 Dr. phil. Von 1978 bis 1984 war er in der Jugendarbeit, seit 1984 ist er als Religionslehrer tätig. Vom Autor ebenfalls erschienen: «Das Abraham-Opfer als Glaubensparadox. Bibeltheologischer Befund - Literarische Rezeption - Kierkegaards Deutung» (1990).
