About the Book

This volume contains papers presented at the 2nd International East/West Database Workshop, held in Klagenfurt, Austria, from 25-28 September 1994. The theme of the workshop was the breaking down of borders - both political, by bringing together researchers from the East and West - and scientific. Among the specific topics covered are: information engineering; data models and database standards; applications and interfaces; query optimization; and security.
