About the Book

Die von SCHARRER und BARGMANN entwickelte Vorstellung (SCHARRER und SCHARRER, 1954; BARGMANN, 1954), nach der das Neurosekret im Perikaryon der neurosekretorischen Zelle entsteht und in einem proximo-distalen axoplas matischen Stoffstrom zum Hypophysenhinterlappen transportiert wird, wird heute im Schrifttum fast allgemein akzeptiert. Gegenargumente (vgl. DIEPEN, 1962; ENGELHARDT, 1968) werden zunehmend hinfallig (BocK u. a., 1968). Auch die Untersuchungen von SACHS u. Mitarb. iiber die Vasopressin-Biosynthese mit markierten Vorlaufern, die haufig als Argument fUr eine Neurosekretsynthese im Bereich des Axons zitiert werden, sind ohne weiteres mit der Annahme vereinbar, daB das Hormon - wenn auch in biologisch inaktiver Form - im Perikaryon synthetisiert wird (TAKABATAKE U. SACHS, 1964; SACHS U. TAKABATAKE, 1964; SACHS u. a., 1967). Von dieser Feststellung bleibt die Frage unberiihrt, ob das Neurosekret im Axon noch irgendeine zusatzliche Veranderung erfahrt (vgl. auBer den genannten Autoren GERSCHENFEID u. a., 1960). Eine weitere Erorterung dieser Frage findet sich bei SLOPER und BATESON (1964), ZAMBRANO und DE Ro BERTIS (1966), PEUTE und VAN DE KAMER (1967) und BOCK u. a. (1968). 1m Hinblick auf die erwahnten Streitfragen ist das Problem der Neuro sekretion von einer groBen Zahl von Autoren bearbeitet worden. Demgegeniiber haben sich nur wenige Untersucher auf den eigentlichen Mechanismus der Sekret bereitung im Perikaryon konzentriert. Die in der Zelle im Zusammenhang mit der Entstehung des Neurosekretes ablaufenden Vorgange sind bis heute nur zum Teil bekannt. Es handelt sich um bekannte zellbiologische Erscheinungen, die all gemein als Zeichen hoher Stoffwechselaktivitat gelten."
