About the Book

The 4th International Symposium "Molecular Order and Mobility in Polymer Systems" held in June 2002 continued the series of St.--Petersburg IUPAC meetings organized by the institute of Macromolecular Compounds of the Russian Academy of Scientists (RAS). The main attention at this symposium was paid to the modern problems of the equilibrium state in polymer science. The lectures published in this book reflect progress of the investigators' interests towards more complicated systems with the elements of nanostructure organization. This volume also contains material dedicated to the memory of an outstanding physicist M.V. Volkenstein (90th anniversary from his birth and 10 years after his death).
