Der Band erforscht, inwieweit sich die zentralen Thesen Freuds aus dem Jahr 1930 zur Frage, warum der Mensch nicht glëcklich werden und sein könne, auf die heutige Kultur reflexiv und kritisch anwenden lassen und welche Bedeutung dies fër theoretische Konzeptionen und praktische Herangehensweisen der psychoanalytischen Pädagogik hat. Die Autorinnen und Autoren spannen den Bogen ihrer Erörterungen von Fragen der Therapie, der Genderdifferenz, des erzieherischen Umgangs mit der Generationsdifferenz, des neoliberalen Zuschnitts von Subjektbildung in institutionellen Sozialisationsinstanzen (Schule, Heim) bis hin zu kulturtheoretischen Erörterungen der Begrëndung von "Unbehagen" in den kulturellen Gegebenheiten der Gegenwartsgesellschaft. Dabei kommen sie zu sehr unterschiedlichen Ergebnissen, was die Vitalität der Auseinandersetzungen um kulturtheoretische und -politische Themen innerhalb der psychoanalytischen Pädagogik zeigt: von der Einschätzung des Veraltetseins der wesentlichen Grundannahmen Freuds aus den 1930er Jahren bis hin zu einem tiefen psychoanalytischen Kulturskeptizismus, der meint, dass die Annahme dreier großer Leidensquellen der Kultur, wie Freud sie beschrieb, nämlich- die Bedrohung durch die Natur und der Umgang der Menschen mit vermeintlicher Naturbeherrschung,- die Hinfälligkeit des Körpers und die Reaktionen altersverleugnender und todesverdrängender Kulturen darauf und- die Unzulänglichkeit der sozialen Einrichtungenlange nicht veraltet erscheint und insbesondere der psychoanalytischen Pädagogik und der Erziehungswissenschaft jede Menge Fragen und aktueller Problemstellungen aufdrängt.

About the Author :
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Körner, graduate psychologist, psychoanalyst (DPG, DGPT, IPA), was a professor in the Department of Education and Psychology at the Free University of Berlin from 1987 to 2009, and chairman of the German Psychoanalytic Society from 1995 to 2001. He is the founding president of the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin and editor of the journal »Forum der Psychoanalysis«. He has researched and published on the following topics: Theory and method of psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic social pedagogy, youth delinquency, human-animal relationships. He is the author of the book Brother Dog and Sister Cat. Love of animals - man's longing for nature «(Kiepenheuer and Witsch, Cologne, 1996).
