Ce recueil d'essais se propose de cerner dans des oeuvres de factures et d'origines différentes la dynamique de la migrance en tant que mise à l'épreuve des identités, tension vers l'autre, moteur éventuel de la transculturation. Comportant un très large éventail d'approches, il joint à l'appréciation esthétique l'interrogation de la teneur éthique et politique de l'oeuvre - des conditions de sa genèse et de sa production jusqu'à sa circulation et sa réception. Par un réseau de résonances et d'échos qui passent les frontières des genres, des langues et des cultures, l'ensemble des contributions révèle les nouveaux horizons sous lesquels oeuvrent celles et ceux soucieux de faire de leur propre passage la seule mesure crédible de l'humain et de ses possibles futurs.

About the Author :
Michael Brophy est professeur à University College Dublin. Spécialiste de poésie moderne et contemporaine, il est l'auteur de Eugène Guillevic (1993) et de Voies vers l'autre: Dupin, Bonnefoy, Noël, Guillevic (1997). Il a dirigé le volume Guillevic: La poésie à la lumière du quotidien (Peter Lang, 2009) et a déjà collaboré avec Mary Gallagher au collectif Sens et présence du sujet poétique: La poésie de la France et du monde francophone depuis 1980 (2006). Mary Gallagher est aussi professeur à University College Dublin. Elle est l'auteur de plusieurs ouvrages sur la littérature antillaise: La Créolité de Saint-John Perse (1998); Soundings in French Caribbean Writing since 1950 et elle est l'éditeur de Ici-là Place and Displacement in Caribbean Writing in French (2002) et de World Writing: Poetics, Ethics, Globalization (2008). Elle travaille actuellement à un ouvrage sur l'écrivain migrant Lafcadio Hearn (1850-1904).
