About the Book

The book covers topics in signal processing theory and methods, computer vision and pattern recognition, speech signal processing, biomedical signal and image processing, multichannel signal processing, intelligent systems, intelligent networks, artificial neural networks, and many other related topics.



About the Author :

Dr. Rumen Mironov received his MSc and PhD in Telecommunications from Technical University of Sofia and MSc in Applied Mathematics and Informatics from Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Telecommunications and teaches Programming in Object Oriented Languages, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Image Processing, Audio and Video Communications over Internet and other subjects. His current research focuses on Multidimensional Signal Processing, Pattern Recognition, Audio and Video Communications, Information Systems, Computer Graphics, and Programming Languages. During his research activities Dr. Mironov participated in more than 20 national and international projects and is coordinator of 2 projects and published more than 120 papers. He is a member of IJBST Journal Group, Bulgarian Association of Pattern Recognition (IAPR) and Bulgarian Union of Automation and Automation Systems.


Dr. Roumiana Kountcheva got her M.Sc. and PhD at the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria and in 1992 she got the title Senior Researcher. At present, she is the Vice president of TK Engineering, Sofia. She had postgraduate trainings in Fujitsu and Fanuc, Japan. Her main scientific interests are in image processing, image compression, digital watermarking, pattern recognition, image tensor representation, neural networks, CNC and programmable controllers. She has more than 220 publications and 5 international patents (EU and USA). R. Kountcheva was the plenary speaker at 28 international scientific conferences and scientific events. She edited several books published in Springer SIST series and co-edited Special issues for Symmetry MDPI. She is a member of Bulgarian Association for Pattern Recognition.


Dr. Ivo Draganov received B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Telecommunications from Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, in 2003, 2005 and 2009. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Telecommunications and teaches Programming in Assembler, Digital Design, Measurements in Telecommunications, Audio Systems and Speech Coding, Multimedia Systems, Digital Video Broadcasting and other subjects. His main areas of scientific research are digital image processing, pattern recognition, multimedia systems and neural networks. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Computer & Communications Engineering Journal. During his research activities, Dr. Draganov participated in more than 10 national and international projects and published more than 100 papers. He is a member of IEEE.


Dr. Vasile Palade is Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in the Centre for Computational Science and Mathematical Modelling at Coventry University, UK. He previously held academic and research positions at the University of Oxford - UK, University of Hull - UK, and the University of Galati - Romania. His main research focus is on neural networks and deep learning for computer vision and natural language processing, in the context of applications from autonomous driving and smart cities area, sensor data processing for health and environmental applications, social network data analysis, among others. Prof. Palade is an author and co-author of more than 280 papers in reputed journals and conference proceedings as well as several books on machine learning and applications.
