Dieses Buch stellt die wichtigsten Meilensteine der Forschung zum automatisierten und autonomen Fahren in den USA, Japan und Europa über fünf Jahrzehnte (1950-2000) vor. About the Author :
Fabian Kröger ist Kulturwissenschaftler und Technikhistoriker mit Schwerpunkt Mobilitätsforschung. Sein Hauptforschungsfeld ist die kulturelle und technische Geschichte des Automobils. Er veröffentlichte zu Themen wie dem Auto im Film, dem Technoimaginären des autonomen Fahrens, der Zukunft des Automobils sowie dem Auto als Sehmaschine. Seine Doktorarbeit beschäftigte sich mit den Beziehungen zwischen kulturellen Bildern und wissenschaftlichem Wissen über Autounfälle in Frankreich und den USA. Seine Artikel erschienen auf Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch und Tschechisch. Er war Stipendiat eines von der Daimler- und Benz-Stiftung geförderten Projekts zum autonomen Fahren. Als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Medienwissenschaft der Universität Paderborn betreute er eine Ausgabe einer Fachzeitschrift zur Geschlechterdimension des autonomen Fahrens. Die Repräsentationen von Zügen im Kino erforschte er für den französischen Thinktank Forum Vies Mobiles in Paris. Er ist Mitglied der französischen Vereinigung P2M und arbeitete sieben Jahre lang im Herausgeberteam der Zeitschrift Transfers - Interdisciplinary Journal of Mobility Studies. Das hier vorliegende Buch wurde von der Universität der Bundeswehr München gefördert.
