Inborn Errors of Immunity: Definition, Diagnosis, and Management

Inborn Errors of Immunity (IEIs), also known as primary immunodeficiency diseases (PIDs) are a group of inherited disorders, comprising defects in one or more components of the immune system. Awareness among clinicians about IEIs plays a key role in the early diagnosis of these disorders, in their optimal treatment and in patient outcomes. This volume, which is the 3rd edition of this text-book, covers all clinical aspects of more than 500 disorders in rapidly digestible format and provides physicians, particularly those involved with pediatrics, allergies and immunology, a book so they can use to quickly familiarize themselves with the field, and find appropriate information and solutions, in a short amount of time. This new edition has been extensively revised to reflect advances in knowledge and includes various IEIs not previously covered. About the Author :
Professor Nima Rezaei MD gained his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2002 and subsequently obtained an MSc in Molecular and Genetic Medicine and a PhD in Clinical Immunology and Human Genetics from the University of Sheffield, UK. He also spent a short-term fellowship of Pediatric Clinical Immunology and Bone Marrow Transplantation in the Newcastle General Hospital. Professor Rezaei is now the Full Professor of Immunology and Vice Dean of Research, School of Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and the co-founder and Head of the Research Center for Immunodeficiencies. He is also the Founder of the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN). Professor Rezaei has already supervised more than 200 research projects and has designed and participated in several international collaborative projects. Professor Rezaei is an editorial assistant or board member for more than 50 international journals. He has edited more than 100 international books, has presented more than 1000 lectures/posters in congresses/meetings, and has published more than 1,500 scientific papers in the international journals.
