About the Book

Clinicians have a variety of diagnostic methods available for evaluating a child with an arrhythmia. The ECG and Holter ECG remain the cornerstones for a good diagnostic and a correct management. Many pediatric cardiologists have some experience in Holter ECG interpretation, but many are still uncertain about their ability to recognize normal variants and pathological rhythms. This book is written specifically for pediatric cardiologists and provides a short and practical review of the issue. Following a brief introduction of the theoretical basis of the Holter ECG, the chapters give a systematic method to interpretation of ECG signals. Several print screens from the different softwares are included to assist users in more confidently diagnosing arrhythmias. The book's second part provides a comprehensive collection of real-life cases and Holter ECG tracings in an easy-to-use manner. The cases cover the most common arrhythmias seen in pediatrics and will assist build the skills needed to analyse the Holter ECG quickly and effectively in both infants and older children.

About the Author :
Gabriel Cismaru is an assistant professor of cardiology and pediatric cardiologist with qualification in invasive electrophysiology and arrhythmias. He was trained in electrophysiology and cardiac arrhythmias in Dinan, (pacemaker implantation), Saint-Malo (catheter ablation of atrial flutter), Nancy (catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia), Prague, Paris and Budapest. He uses three-dimensional mapping systems for catheter ablation in children with low or zero fluoroscopy. He is the author of 102 ISI indexed manuscripts, 9 international book chapters and edited 3 international books. He is the author of the Springer Nature book "Arrhythmia induction on the EP lab".   Simona Cainap is an associate professor of pediatric cardiology. She was trained in Bad Oyenhausen, Germany and she routinely manages pediatric patients with cardiac arrhythmias. She has expertise working with pediatric ECGs, echocardiograms,  has read an enormous amount of Holter ECGs, and has carried out stress tests for the purpose of assessing arrhythmias. She was the project manager for the CARDIOPED project, which involved more than 24,000 children, and she evaluated the ECG alterations and arrhythmias that were present in this huge group of children.   Cecilia Lazea is an associate professor of pediatric cardiology. She was trained in Rouen and Paris-France and she routinely works with children who suffer from palpitations. She has an extensive experience working with pediatric arrhythmias, has read a significant number of ECGs and Holter ECGs, and has conducted stress tests for different types of arrhythmias. Moreover, she holds expertise in the genetic foundations of numerous metabolic diseases and a variety of cardiac arrhythmias.
