En 1966, la pop francaise explose: Jerome, minet de 17 ans, fils de concierge et le rock dans la peau, reve de gloire. Il traine au Drugstore en attendant d'y voir ses disques. Mais quand il signe son premier contrat chez Vogue, c'est une reprise qu'on lui impose, une soupe mievre et commerciale . Pas le choix ? Jerome n'est pas Chouraqui, son double, son frere, ne la cuiller en argent dans la bouche; ni Gudule, amie bientot amante, grandie a l'Ecole Alsacienne entre la fille Picasso et la petite Filipacchi, et dont le pere, societaire du Francais, peut ouvrir toutes les portes. Des seventies a l'an 2000, des Champs-Elysees a Saint-Germain, de la Loco au Palace, du Fanta a la vodka et a l'hero, des premieres amours au troisieme sexe, du jerk au punk, des Beatles a Bowie, de Gainsbourg a Bashung, les trois gamins grandissent. Gudule ne vieillira pas: apres une apparition remarquee dans un film de Rohmer, l'egerie de chez Castel se noie dans la drogue et le sexe - hard... Jerome, miracle en devenir, devale le temps, et perd tout. Icone des sixties kitschise avant l'heure, petite idole disco revant d'underground, produit perime du show-biz, RMiste en voie de clochardisation, il s'eclipse sans laisser d'adresse. Et Chouraqui, qui aurait tout donne pour l'une et pour l'autre, devenu producteur independant dans la seule idee de faire de Jerome une rock star, reste riche et seul dans son XVIeme. Quinqua divorce, rentier bedonnant, triste, il rumine ses chers souvenirs en compagnie d'une poupee siliconee, et mange du Nutella en surfant sur Internet. Et puis un jour d'octobre 2008, Jerome revient...
