Au depart, un fait divers authentique: un couple se tue sur une autoroute, en pleine nuit, chacun dans sa voiture, en se heurtant de face. Les enqueteurs recusent l'hypothese du hasard et concluent au suicide. Image meme de l'inextricable amoureux. Qu'est-ce qui peut bien pousser un homme et une femme qui s'aiment, ou se sont aimes, a faire ainsi la mort en pleine nuit ? Alors commence le roman. Chacun emet des hypotheses. Qui conduisent toutes a la situation la plus classique et la plus romanesque: on s'aime, mais on se met a en desirer un/une autre, et le desir ne s'arrete pas au desir, et de fil en aiguille le filet se resserre, on n'en peut plus, on n'en peut plus de ne pas vivre avec elle/lui, et on n'en peut plus de devoir quitter l'autre. Ce roman saisit desir et amour a la crete, la ou il faut que ca se denoue, ou qu'on en finisse. Roman bref, donc, tendu comme une crise au theatre. La-bas les phares qui pointent. Qui s'approchent. On y va, pour toujours, toujours. On y va. About the Author :
Jean-Philippe Domecq est romancier et essayiste. Il a consacre plusieurs ouvrages au debat sur l'art contemporain, parmi lesquels, Misere de l'art. Essai sur le dernier demi-siecle (Calmann-Levy, 1999). Il a publie La Liberte sans choix politique et Qui a peur de la litterature ?, aux editions Mille et une nuits, en 2002. Jean-Philippe Domecq est egalement l'auteur de Traite de banalistique (Mille et une nuits, 2004), Antichambre (Fayard, 2004), Une nouvelle introduction a l'art du XXe siecle (Flammarion, 2004), Alain Robbe-Grillet ?
