Avec une emotion et une tendresse souvent bouleversantes, Jean Mauriac evoque ici la figure d'un pere qui, souvent lointain et distant a Paris, redevenait a Malagar plus proche des siens et complice de ses enfants. Il nous fait partager les rites et les bonheurs d'une vie de famille, mais aussi ses drames et ses secrets. Il y exprime enfin sa propre passion pour un lieu qui, aujourd'hui legue a la region Aquitaine, appartient desormais au seul patrimoine litteraire.

About the Author :
Jean Mauriac est ecrivain et journaliste politique. Entre a l'Agence France-Presse, en 1944, il est affecte, des la Liberation, aupres du general de Gaulle et ne le quitte plus jusqu'a son depart du pouvoir, en avril 1969. A ses cotes, il occupe, durant vingt-cinq ans, une place de temoin privilegie. Etablissant des liens avec l'ensemble des personnalites du gaullisme, il devient l'observateur le mieux informe de la vie politique d'alors. Jean Mauriac est l'auteur de Mort du general de Gaulle (Grasset, 1999; Prix Aujourd'hui), L'Apres de Gaulle: notes confidentielles, 1969-1989, avec Jean-Luc Barre (Fayard, 2006), Le General et le journaliste, conversations avec Jean-Luc Barre (Fayard, 2008), et Francois Mauriac a Malagar (Fayard, 2008).
