Antoine, dit Loulou, artisan serrurier, specialiste des clefs et mecanismes anciens, s'est range des voitures de Vitry entre lesquelles il a coule une jeunesse difficile en devenant restaurateur pour les musees. Range, vraiment ? Presque. Pour se payer le tour de faconnage ultramoderne dont il reve et dont, maintenant, il a urgemment besoin, Loulou accepte une petite mission . Seulement, on ne lui paye pas le montant promis. En plus, comme il la ramene, on lui defonce le portrait. Decu, choque, il met un long moment a s'en remettre. Jusqu'au jour ou il en a marre d'etre pris pour un moins que rien double d'un lache. Alors il reprend la piste la ou il l'a laissee: aux portes du chateau cambriole. Malfrat naif et innocent, Loulou remonte les rouages d'une machinerie internationale impliquant la mafia russe, l'enraye sans vraiment le vouloir et, bientot, la fait se desintegrer. Voila tout a coup de quoi lui donner des idees de nouveau depart... Auteur incontournable du roman noir francais, inventif et prolifique, Jean-Bernard Pouy a recu, en 2008, le Grand Prix de l'Humour Noir pour l'ensemble de son oeuvre. Apres plus d'une cinquantaine de romans, dont Nus (Fayard Noir, 2007), il signe, avec La Recup', un conte philosophique un brin amoral, sorte de Candide parano.

Jean-Bernard Pouy, ne a Paris, en 1946, est l'un des principaux auteurs contemporains du roman noir francais. Bien qu'il ait un lien fort avec le Lot-et-Garonne (Nerac), le pave parisien n'a plus de secret pour lui. Il y vit, y bouscule l'ordre etabli, lors d'un fameux printemps, tout en poursuivant des etudes tout azimut. Apres avoir obtenu un DEA d'Histoire de l'art (section cinema) a l' Ecole pratique des hautes etudes, J.B. Pouy pratique divers metiers jusqu'a l'age de 35 ans, ou l'ecriture le prend et devient sa principale occupation. Son premier texte Spinoza encule Hegel (1983) dont le titre n'apparait pas sur la premiere de couverture, clot la collection Sanguine chez Albin Michel. Plusieurs fois reedite depuis, ce roman un peu dadaiste pose un regard ironique et cynique sur Mai 68. Avec son deuxieme roman, Nous avons brule une Sainte (Gallimard, 2001), il entre a la Serie Noire chez Gallimard sous le numero 1968. Il ne la quittera plus, tout en continuant de publier chez de nombreux autres editeurs.Amoureux de la langue et de la litterature, romancier et nouvelliste, Oulipien, J.B. Pouy s'impose en permanence des contraintes formelles et narratives. Il propose toujours a celui qui le lit plusieurs niveaux de lecture. Ses recits font de lui un auteur qui suscite en permanence l'attente impatiente du lecteur. La Belle de Fontenay (Gallimard, 1999), ainsi que le tragique R.N.86 (Gallimard, 1998) en sont deux beaux exemples. Son dernier Serie Noire, Le Rouge et le Vert (Gallimard, 2005), semble clore un cycle precis.Auteur inclassable, inventif, prolifique et multiforme, J.B. Pouy se definit lui-meme comme un styliste pusillanime scenariste occasionnel, animateur de radio a France-Culture, poete et dessinateur (Cendres Chaudes, Editions du Ricochet, 1999), il emprunte de nouvelles pistes dans le polar futuriste chez l'Atalante, et meme y invente un ecrivain autrichien qu'il traduit impunement (Le Merle d'Arthur Keelt). Il collabore aussi a de nombreuses revues. Ardent defenseur de la litterature populaire, J.B. Pouy cree, en 1995, la collection Le Poulpe, suivies d'autres qui n'auront pas le meme accueil ( Pierre de Gondol, Serie Grise ... ). Toujours pret a servir la cause du roman noir et du roman populaire (il a recu, en 1996, le Grand Prix Paul Feval de litterature populaire), il s'engage de plus en plus aupres de petits editeurs et, apres la disparition du format poche de la Serie Noire, lance, en hommage, la Suite Noire aux editions La Branche.J.B. Pouy est l'auteur d'une cinquantaine de romans et d'une centaine de nouvelles, dont Plein tarif (1997), Chasse a l'homme (2000), Nus (2007) et La Recup' (2008), publiees chez Fayard Noir et aux editions Mille et une nuits.Photo: DR
