About the Author :
Roger Victor Crawley (1944 - 2016) was brought up on the North Downs in Surry in a council house backing on to an oak woodland. He was state educated. He trained as a teacher at Winchester College and gained a Degree in Geography at Winnipeg University. He further went on to gain his Masters Degree in Landscape Ecology, Maintenance and Design at London University; his final academic achievement was to become a Doctor of Philosophy, "A Study into the Character and Reputation of Christopher Marlowe" which was gained at Lancaster University.
