About the Book

Rags Whistledown lands on her dad's doorstep with just her suitcase, guitar and debts for company. But a chance encounter draws her into a murder mystery she must solve. Set in beautiful North Norfolk, this novel peeps through the curtains of those living in an everyday terrace to uncover love, lust, and a clever, clever killer.

About the Author :
Caroline Gilfillan grew up in Sussex, within earshot of the sea. She spent most of her young adult life in London, where she played music in various groups, including The Stepney Sisters, one of the first women-only bands, and joined several inspirational writers' groups. After taking an MA in Creative Writing at Lancaster University, she taught creative writing in universities and communities - work she absolutely loved. She spent twelve years in North Norfolk before moving to Cumbria. She's published four collections of poetry, the two most recent of which are Pepys (Hawthorn Press) and Poet in Boots (Brewster Press). She received an Arts Council England grant to develop a novel set in the Second World War, which she hopes will soon appear in print. She's a member of the Inprint collective, producing collaborative work between writers and visual artists, and has been involved in creative projects with the Paston Heritage Society, who explore and share the history of the Paston family in North Norfolk. A winner of several national short story competitions, she writes because she loves it. She also writes plays and songs, and performs in the South Lakeland area of Cumbria. She's currently working on The Theatre, the second Rags Whistledown novel, which will be published by Cowslip Press in the near future.
