About the Book

Jim Johnson works as a special agent for a secret biological counterterrorist group. After a difficult mission, he is looking forward to a llama packing trip with his longtime girlfriend Heather in the remote mountains of Washington. The trip is cut short when a dangerous bacterium, resistant to all antibiotics, is set loose in the University of Washington Medical School. How can its deadly spread be stopped and what is the connection with mysterious murders in the Pasayten Wilderness? The mystery unfolds as we are introduced to the General, a tough combat commander with a medical degree, his research staff, and the kindly, brilliant and self-effacing professor J.T. and a team of scientists. The tension builds as all strands of the story develop in parallel: events in the Pasayten, centering on Jim's girlfriend Heather; the spread of the bacteria; and the plans of the terrorist group in Seattle during the Bumbershoot festival. We are introduced to exotic characters, including the sexy and sadistic Najma, the nerdy genius Nusmen. Frequent twists and turns in the plot offer the reader a thrilling adventure, along with romance that will keep you reading well into the night.

Review :
"Intoxicating ! RS Perry captivates your immediate attention from the get go. The twisting plots and dual story lines are intriguing and action packed and constantly keep you guessing." A Klychak "So tense. What a story. I could hardly bear to read the final chapter. So, so good." G Comeau "I am amazed - and gratified - that this author can conceive of such stirring scenarios. His colorful characters definitely help to drive the story. I find myself rooting for them as if they were real. In this tale, place becomes as important as character. The Johnson ranch in the Pasayten Wilderness is especially appealing to me. I often dream of visiting Jim and Heather's home in that rugged back country!" E. L. Beach "It is this complexity and the relationships between the characters that sets this, the first in the Jim Johnson series apart." J Oliver "I was unprepared for the attachment I would develop to his characters. There is depth and feeling .... Throughout this book, Perry allows us to live in the shoes of his characters, to involve us in his soul-searching study of good and bad and to discover what makes people do what they do." C Fosnot "Ah, Off the Edge. I simply loved it!!!! I am not normally a voracious reader, but I can honestly say that your book - the entire story - captivated me tremendously." J Krause "... One of my childhood fantasies was to star in a sci-fi techno-thriller novel. Finally, a reality thanks to Dr Perry (Character 'Vidya', no allusions there...)." V Ananthan "... combining an intense mystery, action and romance. My initial interest in Off the Edge was the locations in Washington State where most of the action happens-places in the North Cascades and Seattle area that I know and love, and that were accurately described as part of the plot. Do not start reading this book unless you plan to read it all the way through in one sitting!" A Gale "Wow! I really got into the complexities of plot and simply couldn't put it down. Read well into the very early morning. It's an edge of your seat suspense thriller with a complex plot that unfolds with seemingly unrelated events in multiple locations." J Rex
