About the Book

By accident, she gave them all the right answers. And now, Rose has a name, newly given. She has a home, shared with a score of children: orphans, runaways, and outcasts. She has brothers and sisters, a meal every day, and a brand new life - if she wants it. The last thing Kayo needs is someone like Rose: a hot-tempered, half-feral killer who will happily steal the orphans blind. But with his brother gone, Kayo has no choice but to take his place as the infamous rogue, the Black Death - and Rose may be the key to his success. The orphans have one goal: to survive. But as the king of Alronelin becomes more and more desperate to find the missing heir to the throne, as their dying city grows more and more deadly, Rose and the orphans become caught in a tangled web of politics, intrigue, and treachery that none of them can escape alone. The people are waiting.

Review :
This was so thoroughly engaging and intense, I am just an exhausted smear on the footpath. This is a fantasy adventure of crime and desperation, all wrapped up in the intensity that comes with kids who make their own families when the world spits them out. Also it has a medieval Batman so I'm here for it. C.G. Drews, author of A Thousand Perfect Notes The Orphan's Code is the ultimate fantasy novel. Elsa Joseph, author of Best Kept Secret I truly love it. I have no bad thoughts about it. It's beautiful. I love it. I couldn't put it down. It's perfect. The cliffhanger made my heart stop.... This is a flawless piece. I enjoyed reading every word. I 100% recommend it to all lovers of fantasy, action, and drama. If you're looking for a book that will keep you up all night reading (it sure did for me!), I would definitely recommend buying it. Kayla Zarate, Editor This book is unlike anything I've ever read before, but I love it. This was a wonderful breath of fresh air. If you're looking for a good story that will keep you turning each page with a newfound quest for answers, then this is the book for you. It was a great read from start to finish!" The Literary Coterie Blog "I fell in love with this novel, from the first sentence I was hooked! I liked the build-up of the events, and how the characters' lives are intertwined with each other. The end is such a cliffhanger that it left me on the edge of my seat! The novel is totally worth reading, I highly recommend it!" Steady, Ready, Get Lost in a Book Blog Ahhhh this book!! I fell in love with it from the very first page, actually I was hooked from the very first sentence! Bermeia is a whole other world that draws you in and makes you feel like it's real. Slowly throughout the first couple of chapters you get to meet all the epic characters and see how their lives are intertwined. I love the buildup of events that leave you wanting more. Such a clever beginning of the story! I loved getting to see the story progress and getting to know the characters more as it went on. It was a book that made you feel like you were really there, which was amazing! The storyline is so exciting and gets you really invested in characters, I didn't want it to end! I am in awe of the author's ability to craft such a magical world, beautiful characters and fascinating plots. If you haven't read this book yet, than please pick it up. I promise you won't regret it!!" Notes From A Bookworm Blog "Wow, this was fantastic.... The prose is beautiful. It is a very intricate but well spelled-out plot. I can't even begin to explain how quickly I would pick this up from a bookstore. Everything about it gives me Assassin Creed vibes! It has 'adventure' written all over it." Lauren Johnson, Editor I admit, I have called a ton of books a roller coaster. But this book was the MASTER roller coaster. It's the coaster that EVERYONE wants to ride. That has a line backed up for MILES! This book left me breathless and shaky and screaming. This book will haunt me for life. Hillin is such a amazing writer! While I read, I forgot I was real. Her writing is so powerful that once you start reading, you're gone. Reviews of a Fear Street Zombie Blog
