Review :

Code Cold Fire Alert by Stephen Francis Montagna is a gripping, high-stakes techno-thriller that masterfully blends military realism, political tension, and the terrifying possibilities of chemical and biological warfare. From its intense prologue to its deeply layered narrative, the novel delivers a chilling yet compelling look at the fragile balance between national security and global catastrophe.

Right from the opening pages, Montagna immerses readers in a world where science, secrecy, and power collide. The detailed exploration of chemical and biological weapons-grounded in real historical context such as post-World War I developments and international treaties-adds an authentic and unsettling realism to the story . This foundation elevates the novel beyond fiction, making it feel eerily plausible.

At the heart of the story lies a covert military installation-Fort Tilden-hiding dangerous secrets capable of reshaping the world. The author's meticulous attention to detail in describing the facility, its operations, and the deadly agent "Three, Four, Seven" creates a sense of tension that builds relentlessly. The narrative thrives on this realism, drawing readers into a tightly controlled environment where one mistake could lead to unimaginable consequences.

Montagna's writing shines in its ability to balance technical complexity with narrative intensity. The political intrigue, including high-level government discussions and concealed military operations, adds depth and urgency. The interplay between secrecy, ethics, and power creates a thought-provoking backdrop that keeps readers engaged from beginning to end.
