About the Book

This first installment of a five-part series captures the reality of human interaction in today's socio-economic climate. Doc Collins has recently seperated from teh United States Army, after serving as a combat medic. Collins' mission to "bring healing, hope and understanding to the military family" only began taking shape in the form of the written word toward the end of his time in service. It was the encouragement of a military and family life counselor to explore the romantic ideations, unmet expectations, and frayed emotions associated with yet a second flailing marriage. After twenty years in the fitness industry, Collins discovered that he was both brawn AND brains. The practice of writing became a discipline, not dissimilar from the regimen associated with becoming a champion body builder. Growing up in historic Williamsburg, Virginia he's the very proud father of two sons, Titus and Maximus. Doc delivers his love letter to the Veteran and Military Spouse communities, in hopes of helping others find their relevant voice to future generations of war fighters, the world over.

Review :
This book held my attention from the beginning with the characters CPT Ava Stenberg (a strong female character in a working environment full of mostly men) who is determined and hard working. Dalton ( a fun loving guy and head over heels for her) I loved these two together who were serious, funny, sexy and nostalgic all at the same time and you want to root for them throughout the book. It touched my heart with the character descriptions I could relate to and with relatable struggles. As the story develops and the characters evolving, I feel all sorts of emotions during this intriguing and romantic journey for a second chance of love that will keep you wanting more! I must begin this review by stating that I do not consider myself a romance novel reader. In fact the premise of the book was what intrigued me. You see, the author is not your typical romance writer. 1300 hours is no sappy, saccharine endeavor. Everything about it is unusual including a depth of character delivered in such a thought-rovoking manner as you live the emotional connection between the main characters. You'd be hard-pressed to guess that such a romantic love letter could be penned by a man. Great job, Doc Collins, breaking the male stereotype. This is a ***** read with more on the way! Doc Collins has written a spectacular novel! The descriptive imagery of 1300 Hours drew me into the story immediately. The complexity, relatability and likability of his characters had me actually caring about them. The intimate connection between the main characters was refreshing and touching. The romance was not over done or cheesy. I literally laughed out loud and cried while reading it. The flow of the novel was easy to follow, but I wasn't able to guess the ending. It had me wanting to read the next books in this series!! t has been a long time since I have read a book that I could not put down. I felt the story was not something that I've read before. It made me smile. It made me want to cry. I felt a real connection between Ava and Dalton. I really enjoyed this book and I hope you do too. Can't wait to read the rest of the series! This is a very solid read. The flow of the book is great and the chemistry of the characters keeps you wanting more. Can't wait for the second installment of this series. 1300 Hours is high quality and high caliber.
