About the Book

Scripted Spontaneity by Jacques Lord is the author's effort to capture and share his personal contributions to classic sleight-of-hand magic. The intended audience are magicians with minimum intermediate skills.

About the Author :
Jacques Lord is a Certified Fraud! No, that's not right. Jacques Lord is a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Engineering Geologist in the State of California with more than 40 years of practical experience in the remediation construction and compliance field. He has degrees in geophysics and geology from Brown and Rice Universities, making him a macrobiotic geologist. Get it? Brown Rice? Laugh it up, people, because these are the jokes. In fact, this is exactly the type of "humor" you'd expect from a man whose professional experience includes construction of the South Texas Nuclear Power Project; Health & Safety supervisor at Outage 16 Unit 2 at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station; and managing Base Realignment and Closure under SUPERFUND for the Navy and the Air Force. In his free time, he spent four years doing seismic exploration while living in camps in the Middle East, the Australian Outback, and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. In addition to his Bachelor of Science in Geophysics and Masters of Arts in Geology, Jacques is a long-standing member of the Academy of Magical Arts and an Insufferable Know-It-All. He's also got a great laugh. His background in magic has been a boon to his last nine years working as a fraud investigator. After all, it takes a con to know a con. Do yourself a favor and hang out with Jacques for a bit. You're sure to learn something, even if it's not what you were expecting. With 40+ years in the trenches, clients know Rob's a Renaissance Author, Editor and Marketer. Currently working on his next two books and a weekly newspaper column, Rob seamlessly blends coaching, ghost writing, and editing with an innate talent for finding unusual marketing partners, an unerring ability for developing dynamic communications strategies, and an insistence on making the book writing process fun. He's handled books & stories in all fiction and non-fiction genres, and is ready to work with you starting today. I have worked in the print and promotional product field for over 35 years, both in full-time and part-time capacities, as well as on-site, remote and hybrid arrangements. I have extensive experience in day to day operations of a full service, fast-paced print shop, overseeing staff and production, developing and scheduling collateral for both print and online use, while maintaining budget constrictions. My duties included management of all staff as well as customer accounts. I acted as lead graphic designer for all new materials, maintained customer files, prepared files for production, and managed an archival system. I pride myself on having a very strong work ethic, being reliable and efficient, providing highest quality work and outstanding customer service. I have experience in common Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), as well as relevant Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat). Additionally, I have several years of experience with WordPress and other WYSIWYG web design programs as well as CMS software such as Convio and ConstantContact. I am equally familiar with Quickbooks accounting software. I am also a skilled photographer with both product and portrait photography experience. I have experience in every aspect of the printing business, from customer service, to production and pre-press, to digital print production, to designer, to production manager and company owner. I am happy to provide you with samples of my work, as well as personal and professional references.
