Ally Walker returns with a twisted new thriller - from the star of Profiler and Sons of Anarchy.
Two realities. One deadly truth.
Dr. Ella Kramer has started a new life and dedicated herself to understanding the fragile architecture of the human mind. At Bainbridge Psychiatric Hospital, she moves through locked corridors with practiced calm, guiding patients through the shadows of their own fractured lives. But when a decorated war hero, Captain Oliver Haskell is admitted after the brutal murder of his wife, the quiet order of Ella's world begins to shift.
She begins seeing a patient that no one seems to know; memories of another time relentlessly haunt her; and patients desperately try to warn her of what is really going on.But the deeper Ella searches for answers, the more the boundaries of her own reality begins to blur, until her colleagues insist - she's unraveling. Yet somewhere within Bainbridge's locked ward, a truth waits-deliberate, and devastating. And Ella realizes that to uncover what happened on the night of the murder, she must confront the possibility that the greatest mystery is the one surrounding herself.
The Light Runner is a haunting, mind-bending psychological thriller about identity, humanity and the stories we cling to when the world begins to slip away.

"Ally Walker's thriller The Light Runner captivated me from start to finish. The imagery is vivid and other-worldly and the storytelling is done in a way that makes it impossible to put down. The characters are unique and compelling and made the whole ride fun."
-Katey Sagal, actress
"I've known Ally Walker as a gifted storyteller-as an actor, director, and screenwriter-and this novel's debut still knocked my socks off. The Light Runner is propulsive, thoughtful, incisive-the kind of thriller that stands out in a crowded field. It pinned my attention from the first page and held it deftly through the riveting ending that I truly did not see coming."
-Sarah Wayne Callies, actress
"Ally Walker has crafted a compelling read. The fascinating prologue immediately hooks you, and the expertly drawn, flawed characters pull you deep into their world. This is a masterful weaving of past and present, where every carefully placed sentence feels like a vital clue in a gripping murder mystery. A powerful and thought-provoking exploration of the prisons we build for ourselves, both within and without."
