Review :
"Sunset in the Valley of Now and Then" is a great start to this new series "The Immortal Philosophers: Chronicles of Dylan Eaglegod." This fantasy book has a couple of LGBTQ characters and highlights the main character's struggle. The book includes magic and mysticism and it's a journey about how Dylan finds himself and tries to overcome a longtime villain. The characters, the visuals, the descriptions, the story, the developing relationship between Dylan and Antonio... It's hard to put down.
The author has an incredible talent for writing and painting visual pictures. As I read, I could picture the characters interacting, walking down the street under an umbrella in the rain, sitting across from each other visualizing the coffee house, the streets, the settings. It's truly the mark of an amazing writer who can visually bring you into each scene.
Throughout the book, as you meet the characters, you'll understand their roles and cheer Dylan in his emotional journey. It's a must-read. There's also an incredibly crazy plot twist with the villain. I was so anxious to finish it and see what happened! I LOVED IT. 5 of 5 stars."
"It's part adventure, part philosophical dive, and the writing has this poetic rhythm that really sticks with you. The main character, Dylan Eaglegod, feels larger than life but still relatable in this grounded, thoughtful way.
This book makes you think-but in a good way. It pulls you into questions about time, immortality, and purpose without ever feeling like a lecture. It's creative and definitely leaves you wanting more." 5 of 5 stars
