Dancing with the Rain

Grandma says, "One day in your life it may rain frogs". The young girl (Aubree) spins into a mindful visual dance of all the imaginative possibilities of what it could rain. These numerous possibilities written in rhyme will take you along with her. The colorful illustrations and poetic verse are presented mostly in double page spreads and are most entertaining. Author / Artist Robert Carr once again uses his imagination and artistic skill to dazzle you. The motivation for this book originated from Robert's inspiring relationship with his loving grandparents, love for his daughter Aubree and love for all children and their openness to creative thinking. The drawing of the main character (the young girl) was created by Aubree when she was five years old. Robert saved it as a treasure. Twenty years later, the drawing became the main character in this darling picture book "Dancing with the Rain". G.A.R.

About the Author :
Robert Carr is a retired art teacher of thirty-five years and a recipient of the Golden Apple and Harold Grinspoon Awards for his contribution to education. Robert lives in Belchertown, Massachusetts. He spends much of his time with family and friends - real and imaginary. In retirement, he is mostly focused on writing and illustrating children's picture books. Robert received an Associate's Degree in Studio Painting from Holyoke Community College, a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree as a dual major in Studio Painting and Art Education at Massachusetts College of Art, and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts.Robert began his teaching career working for the Town of South Hadley in Massachusetts. He worked there for nineteen years. He started as an elementary teacher and later worked as a middle school art teacher. He finished his teaching career working for Springfield Public Schools mostly as a Federal Magnet School resource teacher in elementary schools. His mission was to improve learning for students through arts integration. He became known for implementing thematic projects that would often involve an entire school. His teachings modeled the social nature of art as well as creative thinking.
