About the Book

An unforgettable mystery that intersects magic, piracy, and ancient sea lore across time. Can the Plunder Bay teens master their Powers in time to overcome the dark forces from the past and restore peace to all they hold dear?

Peter and Cassandra arrive under mysterious circumstances to a stormy, North Atlantic lighthouse, the scene of hundreds of years of sea lore and dark pirate exploits. The twins are welcomed by the magical people who live at Cape Peril Lighthouse and the enchanted seaside village it protects. As the teens build a network of friends, they begin to recognize patterns in the special Powers they all possess. Under the glass dome of their school's ancient, magical library, they learn the nautical history of Plunder Bay and of Captain McBee, whose presence is still felt throughout the village. As Peter and Cassandra's Powers grow stronger, they attract a dark force of unwanted visitors. What do they want and why are they there? It isn't long before Peter and Cassandra are in mortal peril, along with anyone who tries to protect them. When they learn the truth of the invaders, they'll need to make choices that will change their lives forever.

In book one of the McBee Magic series, Peter, Cassandra, and their friends are caught in a battle to preserve a peace that has lasted for centuries. Across the timeless sea that connects them to the past, the twins encounter forces of destruction and clues to their own origin and the source of their Powers.

About the Author :
C. S. Leonard earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from California State College and her Master of Communications from West Virginia University. She created the McBee Magic series incorporating her insights and understanding of young readers after a career teaching middle school and high school literature, creative writing, and theater. Woven into her storytelling are vivid characters and rich scenes inspired by her personal experiences teaching and working with young people. C.S. Leonard writes from her mountaintop home in West Virginia and her seaside cottage near Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. When she isn't writing, she's creating magic in the kitchen, talking on the phone or texting with one of her three children, and generally trying to convince her constant companion, Noel the Standard Poodle, to stop trying to be a lapdog. Her love of all things nautical and magical-combined with a passion for bringing captivating stories to readers-makes the McBee Magic series an enthralling reading experience! Connect with C. S. Review :

The cast of brilliantly intriguing characters and the sumptuous dark academia setting of the school-from the deeply historic magical library to the disturbingly enchanted theater-makes the perfect setting for honing magic Powers. The combination of magic intertwined with sea lore leads to action scenes that feel more like watching a movie than reading a book. I read this book in two sittings-it was simply impossible to put it down.

- Abigail Darby, Author of Merryhearth Manor & Me

Great cast of teen friends who use their magic to unravel the mysteries of the past that threaten the harmony of the future. The seaside town makes the perfect backdrop for pirate lore, magic across centuries, and good versus evil. From the old lighthouse to the pirate trading post converted into a magical high school-this book is full of dark surprises and mysteries to be solved.

- Belle Braden, Author of the Growing Up With Polly Series
