About the Book

It's Fern Juniper's first day of 2nd grade at Rowan Tree School for Fairies (etc.), and things are going well. She doesn't get time out in the giant Venus Flytrap and she's top in her class for fairy locking and elf-shot. But one bad decision turns a great first day into a disaster. Find out how an unlikely accomplice saves the day.

About the Author :
N. J. Stratford knows some of her plant names-but not all of them. She tried using a bow and arrow once-but was only okay at it. But in her 20-plus-year career in children's book publishing, she has designed hundreds of book covers and layouts, proofed hundreds of books, and devised a reading program. So she thinks that counts for something;) She also hopes you enjoyed reading about Fern Juniper as much as she enjoyed writing about her. Evelt Yanait is a freelance illustrator from Barcelona, where she grew up drawing and reading wonderful, illustrated books. She loves to learn, so she studied for a Journalism degree, a Social Education degree, a p.d in Creativity & Advertising and a p.d in Graphic Design. Her true passion is to draw, but she also loves to write, travel and watch documentaries, discovering and capturing new lifestyles and stories whenever she can.

Review :
"A whimsical tale of a magical world that will charm young readers and adults...Stratford's language is accessible, creative, and engaging throughout. The story immerses readers in Fern's way of looking at the world in lines such as "Rowan Tree School is six oak trees east from where I live," and even includes engaging details, such as Fern's favorite soda flavor (milk thistle). Stratford also describes Fern's feelings in a tangible and relatable way...Intricate and lush full-color illustrations by Yanait amplify the mystical forest setting."-Kirkus Reviews "The author has masterfully created a character that exudes authenticity and relatability, instantly making her feel like a cherished friend to young readers...The Rowan Tree School, the backdrop for Fern's escapades, is a truly enchanting setting that leaps off the pages due to the author's meticulous attention to detail. The abundance of whimsical elements and magical quirks really brings this world to life in the minds of readers, making the reading experience even more immersive..."- Louise Jane, CEO The Golden Wizard Book Prize
