Review :
"We love fairytales and high fantasy stories in our family. Not the watered down fairytales we have today, but the mystical, gritty tales - stories told the way they used to be told... And these Russian fairytales, retold by Nicholas Kotar, are fantastic!" Texas Dragon Slayer "This is a great little book with great tales to tell, to both adults and kids alike. In a Certain Kingdom is in regular rotation for story time in our house [and] helps foster a love of good stories in my children, hopefully helping them to craft their own stories as they grow." - AC "Nicholas Kotar has done an awesome job with his Raven Son series; now you can fall in love with the stories that helped inspire him to write it! ... There are other translations, but this is now my favorite." - DAPerkins "What I find in this volume is encouragement, depth, and a seriousness about the human condition that is generally lacking in the stories we see on netflix or at a theater. People fail, people die, but in this world happily ever after isn't an aphorism to be mocked, it's once again a genuine possibility." - G. Widener "These are brilliant retellings of some traditional Russian fairy stories ... they certainly are not just for kids. There are few things you could do that would better form your imagination and bring a little enchantment into this sterile world." - Jack K. "I am enjoying these fairy tales immensely and the window they are giving me into Russian culture and myth...These stories will stay with me for a long time to come." - Kindle Customer "I love this slim volume, a great example of true quality over quantity. I also recommend searching out Nicholas Kotar's presence on YouTube. He's as engaging there as he is in print. Now, what's this? The good deacon has written his own fantasy series?" - R.V.J. Kralik "Well written Russian fairy tales by Nicholas Kotar. He is the king of Russian tales and mythology. Check out his other books on Russian tales as well. They are great for a person who is not familiar with the culture or stories." - Steve Litteral
