Review :
"Sweetheart is a lucky kitten with a home and a family that loves her. Meeting her new friend Jeremy in a parking lot teaches Sweetheart and her family that others may have lifestyles that are different from their own and they are equally happy with their choices. "Understanding the viewpoints of others is a challenge that children often face in daily life. Acceptance of different viewpoints is a valuable learning process. "This whimsical and charming tale is expertly portrayed through the drawings of a gifted illustrator. The personalities and feelings of each of the characters are evident in the enchanting and insightful pictures. The inspiring message is beautifully captured in this endearing story. It is sure to be a favorite giggle book that children and parents will want to share and read out loud over and over." -Norma A. Phelps, psychologist "It is my pleasure to read a children's book written and illustrated by John E. Hume, Jr. Mr. Hume amazed me with the realistic pictures of the two kitties, and he has a remarkable talent for showing the personalities of his characters in his colorful drawings. One could almost read the story just by looking at the illustrations. "Every library should have copies for youngsters so they'll love to read as much or more than spending their time with TVs or phones. Reading starts by having parents read these books to their youngsters while they themselves mature as readers. READING IS FUN! Thanks, Mr. Hume." -Delores K. Rowley, retired principal
