Review :
"Like its predecessor, Where Do Bananas Come From?, this book of vegetables provides layer upon layer of learning. Each time you turn a page you discover something new. The diversity of knowledge shared about vegetables - from where they are grown, when they are in season, what part of the plant they come from, how to pick, store, prepare, explore, and so much more - will keep readers coming back, again and again, to learn and be inspired to try something new. The delightful illustrations engage readers of all ages and add an extra element of fun and surprise as you learn about the wonderful world of vegetables. As my 5-year-old grandson described it, "This book is Awesome!" --Barbara J. Mayfield, MS, RDN, Nutrition Communicator, LLC. Editor-in-Chief of upcoming Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Guide to Nutrition Communication (2019); retired from Purdue University Nutrition Science Department; long-time nutrition educator of children birth to 90+; advocate of exploring food and sharing meals "This colorful illustrated book is sure to get your kids interested in exploring--and eating--vegetables. It highlights over 50 vegetables with interesting tidbits on where they come from, what nutrients they provide, and how to prepare them. It also encourages mindful eating skills by explaining how to use your 5 senses when trying new foods." --Lily Nichols, RDN, CDE, Bestselling author, Real Food for Pregnancy, Real Food for Gestational Diabetes "If you're looking to share the world of vegetables with children, this is the book to grab! It is perfect to develop fun lesson plans, share during story time, or explore recipe ingredients in depth with children of all ages. The best way to get kids to try new vegetables is to share and explore more vegetables. As a dietitian and educator, I love how this book is designed. It is fun and youth-centric, yet factual and ready to use in classrooms or at home. Get ready to make vegetables an adventure for the entire family!" --Wendy-Jo Peterson, MS, RDN, Culinary Nutritionist and author of Born to Eat and The Mediterranean Diet Cookbook for Dummies
