About the Book

Have you ever wondered how people survive real tragedies -- the death of a child, the guilt from a suicide, cancer, losing one's home in a natural disaster? The Other Side of Tragedy describes the help that comes through from the other side when someone becomes overwhelmed by tragic circumstances. The Other Side of Tragedy is one mother's journey of discovering what life and death are all about.

About the Author :
I feel like I have experienced three lives. The first chapter of my life was growing up in Virginia as Louise Timberlake: spending my childhood in Sweet Hall, grade school at King William, middle school at West Point, and high school in Williamsburg. I received a B.S. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond followed by a short career as an Educational Representative for The IBM Corporation in Virginia Beach. The second chapter as Louise Northon by marrying Cliff, a native of New Orleans. After completing a M.A. degree from The University of South Alabama in Mobile, I spent the following thirty-four years in the suburbs of New Orleans raising our two sons. I was a "soccer mom" and enjoyed art classes, a book club, writing groups (fiction and non-fiction), lunches with friends, and interesting classes at the local university. After losing my youngest son, I began a quest to find out what life and death are all about - a journey including spiritual awakenings, a discernment with George Anderson and monthly lessons with Mary Jo McCabe and "The Guides". This chapter ended in 2005 when my husband died of a brain tumor followed by Hurricane Katrina flooding my home two months later. Returning to Virginia, I reconnected with Ray, a high school friend, and now I am on my third chapter as Louise Wright living in Glen Allen. This is the good life enjoying and appreciating all in my world.
