About the Book

When Amelia gets to working on a project, she has lots of great ideas. So many great ideas, in fact, that she doesn't think she needs any help from anyone. She's more than happy to go ahead and do it on her own. When Amelia's antics result in cold shoulders and unfriendly stares from friends, she soon learns that solo acts on group projects may not be the way to go. Luckily, Amelia's teacher is there to teach her some simple ways to recognise and value the contributions of others. Will Amelia be able to undo the hurt she's caused and realise the true benefits of working as a team? Find out in this fun story from award-winning author and school counsellor, Bryan Smith.

His stories address topics like sportsmanship, self-control and self-acceptance.

Review :
"Everyone's Contributions Count: A Story about Valuing the Contributions of Others" is an engagingly entertaining picture storybook that can help children ages 4-7 in understanding that working as a team and valuing the contribution of others will help bring them success at home, school and in the community. Very highly recommended for family, daycare centers, preschool, elementary schools, and community library 'Social Issues' collections. The story also features tips for educators, parents and counselors." - Midwest Book Review "If you know me well, then you know that I am a HUGE fan of all books from @boystownpress and this is yet ANOTHER one you'll want to add to your purchase list! If you're using @socialthinking vocabulary, THIS is a great story to help reinforce the GROUP PLAN. When we're following the group plan, we're thinking about other people's thoughts and feelings. We understand what our role is, and we're all working together, showing the expected behavior, and the people around us feel calm and comfortable. They're probably having REALLY comfortable thoughts and feelings about US too! And they'll probably want to hangout, do another group project, or play with us again! Being on a team is tough. My kiddo plays soccer, and man that kid is a rock start out there, BUT taking the ball and scoring over and over... without ever passing it to a teammate... isn't the GROUP PLAN in soccer. When you're part of a team, you ALL have a job. You pass, you take turns scoring, it's not a one man show! This was the perfect book to start our conversation about following the group plan, and being a team player." - Kim Gameroz, Behavior Specialist "What a great book to help children and even adults appreciate the contributions of others. I'm eager to use this wonderful story and the clear skill steps provided to help the children in our school learn this important skill!" - Megan Rawlins, Assistant Principal
