Maïlys Pitcher is a designer and matte painter working in the animation industry in Vancouver, and an illustrator in her free time. She has always been passionate about drawing and story-telling. She grew up in a bilingual family of artists, surrounded by illustrated books, paintings and French comic books, and soon knew she wanted to make art her career. In high school, she won a national drawing contest and illustrated her first children's book. Since then, she has done more illustration jobs, worked on art commissions and various designing projects. In her art, she wants to tell a story and engender emotions to the viewer. Lighting and colours are her favorite part of research, and she is fascinated by how they can affect and give a mood to a piece.

Winnie and the Mystery of the Missing Moonstones is a wonderfully adventurous tale, perfect for young readers. The author weaves vivid imagery and page-turning suspense among a captivating narrative, thus creating an immersive story that has the reader wanting more. -- Ann Catherine Mouton, Elementary school teacher You will not be able to put this book down until you find out how these four characters solve this mystery. And along the way, you will get to know these characters so well that they will become your friends. -- Dr. Patricia Comeaux, Professor Emeritus, Communication Studies, University of North Carolina Wilmington For the youngster who loves to read a mystery story, this is easy reading and never boring to the very end. -- Sudie Landry, Writers' Guild of Acadiana, President Young readers will instantly identify with our hero Winnie while she navigates through an unfamiliar world along with her insufferable brother, Jerry. As an educator for over forty years, I know that JP Coman's engaging tale will surely inspire children to dive into future literary adventures for years to come. -- Cathy Williams The ordinary turns extraordinary when the magical world of trolls is revealed. A fun book for early readers through middle grade. It's an action packed story and includes wonderful illustrations by Mailys Pitcher. -- Carol Stubbs, Author I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, light hearted, fantasy adventure, I had so much fun reading it. -- Roberta Reads As annoyed as I was with Winnie and Jerry's sometimes dim witted dad, I loved this book! The trolls were absolutely adorable and I loved how they were so united and willing to help each other out. I loved the illustrations as well. I'm a visual person when I read so, these illustrations were lovely and very helpful. -- Gretchen Vega Magic marshmallows, a bumbling dad and an extremely talkative troll add to the fun of this enjoyable romp! -- Denise Gallagher, Design and Illustration
