Pssssst! Hey, You, Yes....YOUR Generation (whichever that may be).
Are you looking for:
... Saccharin love sonnets?
... Maudlin two-line musings?
... Droning co-opted hip hop lyrics?
-You won't find that here.
Do you desire:
... Trite overbaked sentiment?
... Foolish masturbatory banter?
... Inscrutable word salad?
-You won't find that here.
What you WILL find here is an epitaph, of sorts, laced with:
... Dark humor.
... Snide observations.
... Stark realism.
... Morbid landscapes.
... Gamblers and junkies.
... Punks and thugs.
An epitaph for MY forgotten generation-Generation Jones-who:
... Relishes obscure banalities.
... Prefers pencil on paper.
... Revels in audacious irony.
... Eschews "the good old days."
It's no longer time for any of these things.
It's simply:
... Time for my Generation to Die.

Out of the ephemeral detritus of stories long abandoned, yet inescapable like shadows, E.D. Evans spins a glorious web of percussive attack. Each new verse compelled me to on. I wanted to shout lines out to strangers on my commute. Why are you not reading this, too? Images and phrases conjure a provocative umami that will keep me coming back. I recommend reading this expansive collection. It hits mind, body, and spirit hard and where it hurts. Think biker in the panorama with all the elements blasting the senses. What a ride! Thank you E.D.
Grit and Grace

E. D. Evans has a way with words. Sharp, witty and poignant. Love her direct style. No topic taboo. So worth the read!
You will not be able to prevent yourself from reading Evans's poems aloud....

Her powers of observation are keen, and her ability to coalesce a cluster of metaphors into brilliant truths will astonish you. But the rhythm is gonna getcha. You will be chilled, delighted, and enlightened. You will want to shout "testify!" But you will end up reading the ones that speak to you the most out loud. Also, Evans says more in one poem about Marilyn Monroe and her mistreatment, and by extension the way women are branded and handed around for this culture's abuse, than Joyce Carole Oates does in an entire book.
A darkness I can get down with!

Sometimes its like someone is just looking right at you when you're reading their words and that's how I felt with this collection. I felt seen, I felt heard...but mostly I felt the author did a better job expressing my feelings than I could ever done. kudos and I look forward to more!
Very well crafted

A timely collection for the world we are living. Beautiful words but poignant messages. I have followed Edie's videos on social media for awhile and am happy to see a collection in print. (As I read these, I hear them in her voice.) Read through these with a glass of your favorite beverage snuggled up on your couch. It's a great way to spend an evening or two.
Dark Wit

Cautionary poems & legends with a sharp, dark wit. Read this book before it's banned!
A Poignant, Biting Collection
If you're a fan of modern poetry with a wry twist, this is the collection for you. E.D. Evans shares insights, witticisms, and provides a sharp look at life, love, and loss. The illustrations are beautifully done, adding to the general moodiness of the book. Evans has done a great job of providing spot-on commentary about the state of the world with a smart, loving hand.

This collection is great! I loved it. So gritty! Takes me back to old East Village.
