About the Book

Book IV. The Black Dragons are back! After their last run in, Nick Grant believes his nemesis, Toshio Miyazaki, is dead. Determined to leave the spy games behind, Nick starts a new life as a Naval Aviation Cadet. During training, famous aviator and movie producer, Howard Hughes, lures Midshipman Grant into a mock dogfight. Afterwards Hughes offers Nick a pilot job. Nick's college dreams stand in the way, and he turns Hughes down. However, their paths cross again in an unexpected way. In 1936 the Black Dragons, working for the Japanese Intelligence Service, remain active in California and have a new partner, the Third Reich! Agents from both countries team up in their most audacious plan yet--steal the Hughes H-1 racer. Their plan--use the cutting edge technology to develop the world's most advanced fighter aircraft. The Japanese plan goes awry when US Naval Counterintelligence becomes aware of their activities. Commander Boltz assigns Nick and Senior Chief Ellis to guard the airfield until the FBI can take over. Together, they foil the Black Dragons' attempt to steal the H-1 plans but the Japanese regroup with an even more sinister plan. They grab a hostage and demand that Nick deliver the H-1 technical plans and the Navy's Top Secret Pacific War Plans. When the Black Dragons attack, it's up to Nick and friends to turn the tables, retrieve the stolen goods and a fabled katana. Join Nick Grant, Nancy Tanaka, and Leilani Porta in their latest adventure, Black Dragons Attack!

About the Author :
THE REAL-LIFE ADVENTURES OF JAMIE DODSON LIVING IN HAWAII rekindled Jamie's childhood passion for learning more about the era of the great flying boats. Boats were in his family DNA, after all. Born in London, Jamie's parents immigrated to Canada when he was 3. After a year, the family moved to Chicago. When he graduated from Lane Technical High School, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served 13 months in Vietnam. After active duty, Jamie joined the 3/87th Mountain Infantry, US Army Reserve, and studied Geospatial Science at the University of Colorado. While at university he participated in the Reserve Officer Training Program and received a Military Intelligence commission along with his bachelor's degree. After serving on three continents, two wars and across the Pacific he retired. Raytheon offered him a position as a Principal Systems Engineer and he moved the family to Huntsville, Alabama. About the same time Jamie says he got the idea for the story and the Nick Grant character. And so the story began! I write historical fiction novels depicting real events and the people who influenced them. I tell the story from the prospective of a fictional character, inspired by HAWK Six, a former US Army Airborne Ranger, Military Intelligence Pilot and Homeland Security Senior Intelligence Officer. Flying Boats and Spies was published in June 2008. China Clipper was published in June 2010. Mission: Shanghai was published in June 2012.

Review :
Praise for Black Dragons Attack! "BLACK DRAGONS ATTACK is great and builds on the first three Nick Grant Adventures. There's more action and adventure with great hooks for a movie and anyone interested in Howard Hughes and his exploits. As an aviator, the authentic flight scenes and the crash gave me goose bumps." Nick Grant (actual), U.S. Army Airborne Ranger, Senior Aviator (retired) and Department of Homeland Security Senior Intelligence Officer (retired)https: //dp.la/item/afa881b86b567318a0d2ebdc9d2e6514 "I HAVE EAGERLY LOOKED FORWARD to the next Nick Grant Adventure and finally, here it is! Black Dragons Attack may be the best one yet in this thrilling pre-World War II series that features a great cameo by none other than billionaire engineer Howard Hughes! The Axis powers are on the hunt to steal Hughes' aeronautical secrets but soon find themselves crossing propellers with rough and tough Nick Grant, America's finest and bravest pilot! This series is addictive. Get started today!" Homer Hickam, NY Times bestselling author of Rocket Boys/ October Sky http: //homerhickam.com/https: //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homer_Hickam "OKAY, BRACE YOURSELF, Nick Grant fans for another pulse-pounding saga in Jamie Dodson's classic adventure series. Black Dragons Attack has all the magic ingredients of the previous books: heroes you can root for, villains who reek of evil, non-stop action set against a backdrop of 1930s nostalgia, exotic locales, and a sleek flying machine called the Hughes H-1. First-rate entertainment." Robert Gandt is an American author and aviator. Gandt has written and published more than a dozen books on military and aviation history and military adventure fiction. Wikipedia Awards: Samuel Eliot Morison Award for Naval Literature.
