About the Book

Skyla Roseau writes about her Big Data world of surveillance and rules in her last assignment before graduation. Jaffa, her fiancé, and Tangier, her big brother, warn her not to break any word rules. One day, she uses forbidden words to write from her heart about the cruel oppression of Big Data. But, a professor betrays her and a rigged keyboard outs her. Both trigger Big Data's wrath upon Skyla. She escapes underground with Tangier and Jaffa. To survive they must choose to join the resistance, led by the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

About the Author :
Liza Elliott is a sociologist and teaches at the Sparkman Center for Global Health, the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Review :
"The dystopian world, completely controlled by monopolies and overseen by Big Data, an entity that always knows where you are and what you have purchased, created by Liza Elliott is not one we are yet living in. Although set in the future there is a familiar feeling about the conditions under which people live. Today multi-national corporations have immense power over governments and through the internet, people have very little privacy. The tale of Dr. Elliott's brave heroine challenging the reigning order is spell binding and is a warning to us all and to ignore it would be a mistake." Kathleen Johnson, Activist & Human Rights Lawyer, Birmingham, Alabama. "I just started the book last night. Stayed up 'til 11:45, way past my bedtime, because I got caught up in the story and couldn't stop reading. Great thriller with pertinent references!" Katherine Pearson, Women's Advocasy, Birmingham, Alabama.
