Idiom Attack is a collection of 300 North American idioms in common usage today, arranged in an easy to read and understand format. 25 topical chapters provide easy access for intermediate to advanced students of English. Only the most useful idioms and phrasal expressions are included, with meanings in both English and Chinese for comparison. Example sentences provide contextual support for more in depth understanding and practical application and stories challenge learners with the application of language with follow-up comprehension questions designed to coax them to use the target language. Finally, discussion questions encourage deeper dialogue and practice with opportunities for reading, writing, listening and speaking. Check out our site at www.idiomattack.com

About the Author :
A born-and-bred mid-western boy, Peter Liptak is a poet, world traveler and lover of language. Unlike most English majors, he actually made use of his degree teaching English to children and adults in South Korea for the last 20 years, as a private tutor, preschool teacher, and adjunct at Incheon University. While teaching and writing in Seoul, Peter completed a Master's in Korean History, and using Korea as a source of inspiration, linguistic and otherwise, penned several books including the controversial book of Korean Slang: As much as a Rat's Tail, translated the scathing graphic novel The Great Successor Kim Jong Un: a Political Cartoon, and created the Idiom Attack series. You can follow Peter at www.peteliptak.com or www.idiomattack.com Matthew Douma grew up in a small rural town in Southern Canada. Ever since his early childhood years, Matthew has had a deep interest in Asia and made his first visit when he was just fifteen years old. As an avid outdoorsman and adventurer, Matthew enjoys sports of all sorts including Taekwondo. Matthew also has a passion for mountain climbing, sailing and writing as hobbies. Residing in Seoul with his lovely wife Sun Hee and daughter Ennik, he works as an English education consultant and author of English educational material. An elementary school teacher since 1999, Jay enjoys writing stories and collaborating with his brother on creative projects. Currently teaching grade five and physical education in Ontario, Canada, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife Christa and daughter Emma at their home on Lake Erie when not working.

Review :
1." Peter Liptak [...] equipped his readers with the tool that will ensure that all these idioms stick in our cute little brains..." - CorpsLeg (CorpsLeg Review) 2." [...] if those questions were not there, I doubt I would have learned as much as I did." - Annie Abdul (Annie Abdul's Review) 3."Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Sim. Chinese Edition) helped me understand the beauty of idioms in our conversations [...] I cannot imagine how valuable many Chinese ESL learners will find this book."- Juan Roy (Juan Roy's Review) 4."The book also contains meme-like images that depict some of the idioms contained in the book [...] but most importantly, they helped the idioms stick in my head..."- Shara Scotts (Scotts' Review) 5."There are also exercises that encourage you to talk to classmates and those will definitely be more beneficial for a class." - Cassandra Chan (Cassandra Chan's Review) 6."[...] there is also a distinct section where the author poses a few more general questions about different aspects in everyone's life [...] some of these questions are really intriguing and serve as a good speaking topic in group learning." - Simina Dinca (Simina Dinca's Review) 7."The authors went a step further by providing questions for discussions and exercises to test the readers' understanding of the idioms explained and to see if they can use them correctly." - Lorddenin (Lorddenin's Review) 8. 5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome book! "I've studied Chinese for years, and my high school adopted a program where they get a Chinese person (1 a year) to help teach the class and expose us to real Chinese. My teacher got this book to help the assistants figure out what we were saying in English! It's just like our regular textbooks, but sooooo much more useful! I've gone over some of the stuff in here with our assistant teacher and she's getting more comfortable with English, just like I am with Chinese!"
