About the Book

A mood of optimism, if not hype, is sweeping the world. Literature is full of teachings how Positive Thinking instantly brings success. Our Business World is managed by "emperors," hyped enough to try to conquer the world, as all mega mergers show, which do not bring any improvements, better to be linked with financial "Titanics" threatening to drown the market economy, and our democracies! The Politicians must be optimists, and hide problems before Election Day, - this being the rule of Democracy's game! Parents often worry if not the shy little 7-year old ought to be sent to the "shrink"! Optimism, hype, everywhere. A new era has, indeed, dawned. History died, so Ancient Greece's opinion of hype as the worst of all human sins, never heard of. The Slave's whispering in Caesar's ear; "Remember you are only a human being," completely forgotten in all of society's leading circles, today... Media, -the almighty Caesar of our times, only adds to this. Not content with its subordinated position as informative agent it grasped power with the help of its new, formidable TV-weapon! In an unnoticed "palace-coup" both the Legislative and Executive branch were sent into the basement of the Democracy building! Superficial, circus-like messages and moods, idolatry, yes almost pure stupidity started to fill our world, in times we would have needed deep-penetrating analyses, reflection and common sense. Everything had to be "light." From Coca-Cola to thinking. Pessimists, now on their way to extinction, with their balanced skeptical and common sensed thinking are more than ever needed... in order to avoid a human ecologic disaster!
