About the Book

This book is a gift from the battlefield of adversity. Through the voices of ten individuals and their stories of adversity comes one ringing message for anyone who is doing it tough: This is not the end of your story. You have the power to reinvent your life, and to write a new chapter that is meaningful and forward focused. Rick Warren says that our greatest ministry will flow out of our pain. It is not the absence of pain that makes a good life. It is when we accept pain, set our hearts to learn and grow from it, and begin to take responsibility for our lives and choices, that great things start to happen. If the stories resonate with you, it is because we are human - we share the same fears and hopes, the same dreams, the same struggles. Which means that whatever situation you are in right now, you are not alone, and you need not fight alone. We invite you to meditate on the lessons and strategies shared, to fill up your tank with encouragement, hope, and fresh ways of responding to life, and to start writing your own beautiful and inspiring new chapter. You will discover... Secrets to a thriving life in spite of ongoing health challenges Keys to reclaiming your personal power after an abusive relationship How to lead, help, and influence others without exhausting your own reserves How to find new meaning and purpose after grief and loss How to retrain for a new career at any age"

About the Author :
Serena Low has first-hand experience of turning challenges into opportunities for reinvention. In the past 10 years she ... Left a stable career as a government lawyer to help frazzled professionals create more fulfilling career options. Gained additional qualifications as a life coach, Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner, EDISC trainer, workshop facilitator and a Diploma in Chinese-English Translation. Migrated from Singapore to Australia with her husband and four-year-old and a bub on the way, learning endurance, patience, faith and humour, as well as the indispensable art of making do. Raised two beautiful, wise and profound daughters who gave her a new appreciation for multiple intelligences, and how important it is for parents to deal with the emotional baggage left over from childhood before it infects their relationships with their own children. Endured and recovered from the physical and emotional pain of miscarriage. Made peace with the negative emotions and associations from her past, and is learning to give thanks for them. Facilitated parenting workshops to share with other parents in the community the insights she had gained from her own journey as a parent, and to give parents a safe space to be heard and to ask for help. Spoke about her career change decision at community and corporate events. Taught Sunday School in church and helped run the annual Sunday School Camp for kids aged 8 to 15. Volunteered at school as a parent helper and Coffee Club coordinator. Went from hating all forms of exercise to being a keen student of martial arts. Learned to drive after 5 failed attempts, and is getting better at trusting that she can take on an unfamiliar route and get home in one piece (although when it comes to Melbourne CBD, she would much rather take the train). Started a business despite having no business background, simply because she wanted to help more people have thriving lives and love the work they do.
