About the Book

Murder is a dish best served cold. Winter in Michigan should do the trick. Maiden Harlow and her family have bought a run-down mansion and are set to start reviving the amazing old place. But the problems start as soon as the sale is final. Strange noises in the walls, missing keys, and a mysterious bloodstain all point to a dark history lurking within the house. As if that wasn't enough, the furnace breaks down right before a massive snowstorm is due to hit. Desperate for funds to make the necessary repairs, Maiden turns to sassy Aunt Bella for help. But Bella's solution involves teaming up with an eccentric film crew. As tensions rise and secrets are revealed, Maiden and her family find themselves trapped in the spooky old house with a killer among them. Maiden and David are forced to team up to solve a murder before anyone else gets hurt, but the game is different this time. David's usual methods aren't working and he seems to be hiding something. Dark and deadly secrets are everywhere and Maiden needs to find out if they're tied as closely to the history of the manor as she suspects. Her theories are forming, but even she knows how unbelievable they sound. Can she solve a crime this strange and complicated on her own? Maiden will have to rely on her instincts to survive this gripping mystery as she meets her most chilling adversary yet! Don't miss out on this cozy mystery thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end.

About the Author :
Writing murder mysteries and speculative fiction has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. The earliest days were spent crafting alternate worlds and realities while sitting in the car listening to a mix of country, Motown and 80s hair bands. My serious storytelling began in my teens. I was typically hidden away in my room for hours. There in my secret lair I filled many notebooks with handwritten stories. I was about 19 when I saved up and bought my first laptop (I think I still have it shoved in a closet somewhere). It was incredibly heavy and had all the aesthetic charms of a brick. It was also a huge step up from eraser marks, crossed out lines and an aching claw-like grip from wielding my pencil. I write from many perspectives - heroine, hero, side characters and sometimes even villains. I like to write about heroines that are smart, sexy and basically kind. All the things I want to be if I ever decide to grow up. I love a good twisty murder mystery, and I also dabble in romantasy. While I weave romance into many of my books, I love to explore other relationships as well. Friendships and the many bonds within families are deeply important in writing. I firmly believe that books are vital, and that our imaginations need to be protected and cultivated. And that boredom, especially in the hands of resourceful children, breeds creativity and strength. One of the most useful lessons I've learned along the way is that if you're in a situation where you can't really conquer or surrender, stories give you the option to escape. Even if only for a few hours. Camille

Review :
Great spooky mysteryMy friend in my book club told me about this book bc she knows i love mysteries with a bit of an edge. This book is great and I by the end of the second chapter I was all in. The characters are amazing and the story really kept me engaged. - Carole S. Engaging mysteryThis book delivers the perfect mix of eerie atmosphere and engaging mystery. Strange noises, ghostly happenings, and layered secrets kept me turning pages late into the night. I had no idea it was part of a series, but now I'm eager to explore the rest. The characters truly stood out. - Alex W. Whodunit.....The snowed-in mansion setting is the perfect backdrop-isolated, eerie, and full of secrets. I loved following Maiden through all the strange happenings: whispers in empty hallways, unsettling clues tucked into old rooms, and a cast of characters you can't quite trust. The pacing is spot-on, with just enough twists to keep you guessing without feeling forced. I was sure I had it figured out halfway through, but the ending still caught me by surprise. If you like mysteries that mix classic "whodunit" vibes with a modern, atmospheric touch, this is a great pick. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the series. - J.S.
